Christmas Party 2004 -

The annual Carol Service and Nativity play was followed by food, fun and games in the parish hall.

After some anxiety Santa arrived with a present for each young person.

     
While waiting for Santa the young people sang lustily. The older generation also enjoyed the celebrations.

Dean Arfon's Institution

Dean Arfon Williams was Installed as Dean of the Cathedral in late November 2004.. Dean Arfon has previously served in St. Patricks in Jordanstown and we welcome him, his wife Carol and his family to Sligo. .

The Dean is pictured left with Bishop Ken and the Churchwardens from each of our parishes.

Summer Madness Festival

Young people from the Parish Group joined youth and leaders from across the diocese in the King's Hall in Belfast for a five day Christian Festival.

Tours of St. John's Cathedral

The Cathedral during the summer months is open to visitors from 10 am until 12.30 pm in the morning and from 2.30 until 5 pm.

Patrick Doran, who last year completed a Diploma in Heritage Studies in Galway is kept busy giving guided tours of this most historic building.

Confirmation

Candidates from both the Cathedral Group of Parishes and Calry Parish were confirmed by Bishop Ken Clarke in Calry Church..

 

 

   

Bowling Club

The club is affiliated with the South Donegal Zone Bowling Association and meets every Wednesday night from 8.15 to 10.30.  This year due to a busy social calendar the Bowling Club plans to open early October. The Captain  is Wilfred Wray and new members are always welcome.

 

Co. Sligo Girls' Brigade

The Badminton Club

The Club meets from 8.30 on on Tuesdays and Thursdays in St. John's Hall. The club plays in the Co. Sligo League and look forward to a successful season.Membership is approx 30 and new members or visitors are welcome to drop into the hall when the club is meeting or contact Robert Donaghy, Barnasrahy, Co. Sligo.
