| This beautiful little church located at the foot of Knocknarea
was built in1843. It was built mostly by local gentry, partly
due to the distance from the nearest church in Sligo, but also due to
their reluctance to contrast their "rustic garb with that of the
better-clad citizens of the town |

Services are held every Sunday at Noon. The Dean alternates
over the winter months with local Lay Readers and Visiting Clergy.
In Summer the Dean takes all the services
At present a major project is underway to rebuild the Vestry and
provide Sunday School facilities. |

amongst other benefits. Pictured left is the Bishop and Mrs Clarke

Harvest - St. Anne's Style!
The Harvest is a very special Service in St. Anne's - this year for
the first time we were able to use our new vestry to offer supper
to the congregation.
We also celebrated our organist's contribution to music for over
30 years - may she continue for many more years to lead us in God's
praise. |

The Interior of the Church
The Interior of the Church is simple yet as the photographs below
show there is some wonderful artistic beauty in the furniture and
the East Window. The latter was added in1873. The church has a capacity
of just 100. Average attendance is about 30. The church is lovingly
maintained by the voluntary work of the parishioners. |

There are many memorials in the Church to local notaries
who died in various wars. Also of interest are the carvings on the pews
by pupils of the school at Primrose Grange picture to the right. This
school was later to become part of Sligo Grammar School |
